    39. Take courage and work on. Patience and steady work— this is the only way.
    40. Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.
    41. "The earth is enjoyed by heroes"— this is the unfailing truth. Be a hero. Always say, "I have no fear".
    42. The remedy for weakness is not brooding over weakness, but thinking of strength.
    43. This is the great fact: strength is life, weakness is death. Strength is felicity, life eternal, immortal; weakness is constant strain and misery: weakness is death.

      Whatever you think,
      that you will be.

      weak you will be;
      if you think yourselves strong,
      strong you will be

Nice write-up! Being able to write creatively is something not all of us are capable of. Count yourself blessed because you have a talent. Getting into the mood in writing does not have a set of rules to follow. ‘To each his own’ is what people say; however, a list of suggestions wouldn’t hurt.mood in writing

This is really wonderful to see how Swami Vivekananda and his immortal word are still read and remembered by millions of people worldwide.

A man like Swami Vivekananda comes in a century, shakes the world, and then goes back to heavenly abode.

What Swami Vivekananda told a century ago, are still relevant and useful. Only a person like Swami Vivekananda can lead us.

I do not believe in politics. Nor I believe in any so caked popularity and limelight-begging social reform. But this man, Swami Vivekananda was above everything. He did not ask anything for himself, He did not care for his own benefit or profit. All his works were for the welfare of the masses. I salute this man.

As we will go on and on, we will need Swami Vivekananda more and more.

                  1. Tito Dutta30 October 2014 at 15:04

                    Hello, Anonymous,

                    1) Swami Vivekananda's grandfather was Durgaprasad Datta. He became a sannyasi at the age of 25. We don't have a biography of Durgaprasad in our website yet, we'll try writing one.

                    2) No, Swami Vivekananda did not marry. Please see this article for details. Thank you.

i love this article. vivekananda was a giant, he was not only a human being, i believe that he was an incarnation, as well as a divine incarnate.,

i don't think that what swami vivekananda had (including his lifelong vow, his allegiance towards his master, sri ramakrishna or sri ma sarada devi, or sarada muni) was/were co-incidental

i read a forum post where i read that vivekananda even never even had any sexual thought. it seems to be unbelievable. when i first read it i was 17 years old, and that first time i seriously started reading swami vivekananda.

vivekananda, his words, his quotes, his knowledge is amazing.

people claim that vivekananda was an incarnation of shiva or narayana or vishnu,

being an atheist, i believe that swami vivekananda was a superbly talented human being, we must read his works, his books, his quotes and everything.

long live Hinduism and humanity and GOD

                • Anonymous27 July 2015 at 19:06

Very helpful, inspiring, encouraging quotes. swami Vivekananda's words and quotes are always very inspiring. It encourages everyone.

I started reading swami Vivekananda's works in my childhood. I am still reading his works. I have read Karama yoga, Jnana yoga, Bhakti Yoga, but my most favourite book is Lecture from Colombo to almora.
